architectural glass
This is a detail of a large glass piece I made for Microsoft, consisting of 5 panels stacked vertically. It’s very tall and located in a narrow open stairway and atrium. My fabricator was Mayer of Munich, internationally known for outstanding architectural glass fabrication. I worked closely with their team to translate the look and feel of my studio work into luminous glass panels.

This is another view from about midway up the stairs. There are lights mounted above, and the piece is also flooded by natural light from a wall of windows that span the full height of the stairs. Although the scale of this piece is dramatic, you can get quite close to it as you move up and down the stairs. I designed it with a progression of color that echoes the signature locator color scheme the designers used on each floor.
This photo was taken at the top of the stairs with morning light raking across from windows on the east side.
